El Palo

Former fishermen village, the sea side has kept the old atmosphere with traditional fishing boats lying on the shore and tiny houses.
"El Palo" neighborhood has its own identity with locals proud of their culture, festival (Virgen del Carmen) and gastronomy and wishing to share it. Bars and restaurants offer a great variety

From El Palo there are several options for hiking or cycling, towards the Montes de Málaga (along the Carretera de Olías), the San Antón mountains, or towards El Peñón del Cuervo since after El Palo the City of Málaga ends. The end of El Palo marks the beginning of a region called Axarquía with fantastic landscapes.
